Roles: Alpine Ski Coach | Head Coach: U-10/12

A SNSC alum I have returned to the place where I learned how to ski at the age of 3, Smugglers Notch!   A member of SNSC from ages 8 - 18,  I consider my self lucky to give back to the program that gave me so much, including a life long passion of skiing.  While sharlping up Smugg's as a youth, I learned not only how to survive on the mountain, but how to conquer all terrain in any conditions. I owe this to the coaches and the SNSC environment "back in the day", I now find myself a coach at SNSC.... How 'bout that?
My competitive back ground is simply, higher end USSA ski racing from age 10 - 18. I graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington with a "Ski Industry Certificate" as well as a B.S. in Geography/Geology. During my time at UMF I became a fully licensed USSA Certified Alpine Coach. After graduating I headed west, to South Lake Tahoe, CA -  Kirkwood, where for 5 years I coached at the Kirkwood Ski Education Foundation and 110+ days on snow was the norm.
My Alpine Ski Coaching resume is 11+ years strong. I have coached all ages & abilities from Nor-Am athletes to Jr. Olympic athletes, to the 10 year old first time ski racer to the "weekend warrior" high school athlete.  Throughout my 11 years of coaching experience I can say that I enjoy the U10 & U12 age groups the most because it is the best age to begin building the foundation for an all around/diverse/expert skier. I try to pass on my passion and knowledge of all aspects of the sport, with the aim for the kids I ski with to become expert all mountain/terrain skiers for life.
