More Info. & FAQs

SNSC is happy to introduce the Smugglers’ Notch Academy, an exciting new program that will help you grow as an athlete and as a student. SNA provides quality tutoring, in house, and provides you with the flexibility to take advantage of increased training opportunities. Not only that, our one on one instructional program will help you develop academically and allow you to pursue your personal interest in the mountain environment. Building on your sending school curriculum, you will have the opportunity to engage in activities connecting what you are learning on the hill to what you are learning in the classroom.

How does SNA work?
At SNA, athletes come out of their sending school three or four days each week during the season to take advantage of focused academics and training. Tutors work with students to keep them current with their curriculum so the transition from academy to school is seamless. Three hours each day are dedicated to one on one instruction in the classroom, followed by a lunch break, and three hours of training. Twice per season, SNA hosts a guest speaker from our local ski industry during the lunch hour. These guests encourage our students to think about the impact of their sport and their future in the industry.

Why choose SNA?

  • benefit from one on one academic sessions with highly qualified tutors
  • work with a Level 300 USSA  U14 coach and a U16+ coach with over 30 years coaching experience.
  • enjoy a “best of both worlds” connection between SNA and sending school
  • learn alongside peers and tutors in a tight knit community
  • develop unique connections with the greater ski community beyond SNA
  • train alongside Saint Michael’s College Ski Team athletes
  • 141 on hill training sessions
  • 8 additional evening on hill training sessions at Cochran’s

The program at Smugglers’ Notch Academy is aimed at U14s – U18s, but second year U12s will be considered with very strong teacher and coach recommendations. Program dates and fees are outlined above.
